Emoji Project

PR agency Hope and Glory came to CALM with the brief to create an emoji that could be used across messaging services to communicate someone was going through a rough time. The challenge was to communicate the complex message of poor mental health in the simplest, most succinct way possible.
The final execution was the sad poo emoji. It was lighthearted and memorable at a point of crisis, but also direct in conveying the message. The emoji had a good story behind it and would gain good media and social engagement.
I worked across the art direction and design execution of the project.
A selection of designs that were tested in focus groups to see how well they communicated the message of poor mental health.
