The Last Photo
Role: Design
Film Grand Prix winner at Cannes Lions & multiple Yellow Pencil winners at D&AD Awards.
The Last Photo was a campaign that highlighted the fact that suicidal doesn’t always look suicidal. The campaign centred around an exhibition on London’s South Bank of 50 portraits of smiling, happy people. Two days after the exhibition was opened, it was revealed on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ that these portraits were the last photos of people who took their own lives. As well as the physical exhibition, the campaign existed across OOH ads and print. The aim of the campaign was to demonstrate that the signs aren’t always obvious and to start conversations that help break down the stigma around suicide.
The campaign was conceived by agency adam&eveDDB. I worked collaboratively with their team and across the digital communications of the project, including website and social designs.
I designed the digital gallery that showcased all the portraits and told the stories of who these people were, with quotes from their friends and family. I also created social content to give people tangible advice on how to start a conversation about suicide.
